Project Phoenix Update – March 2022

This is an update for Project Phoenix and highlights the delivery of important milestones, activities since June 2021 and we are extremely proud to announce that we have handed over the site to Lahey Constructions on 1st March 2022.

We have achieved the following milestones and deliverables during our 2021 – 2022 season: 

  • October 2021 and January 2022 Special General Meetings held;
  • Appointed builder - Lahey Constructions Pty Ltd;
  • AS4902-2000 (Amended) General Conditions of Contract for Design and Construct executed with Lahey Constructions;
  • Agreement for Lease (AFL) and Lease Annexures & Disclosure statement executed with Feros Hotel Group;
  • Deed of Agreement executed with Sutherland Shire Council;
  • Deed of Guarantee (Loan) executed with Sutherland Shire Council;
  • Council has installed and commissioned temporary toilet facilities located on northern end of Dunningham Park;
  • Council has installed and commissioned temporary Lifeguard and First Aid demoutables on front lawn;
  • Surf club temporary containers located on front lawn;
  • Removal and storage of our photos and memorabilia completed;
  • Relocation and storage of surf club lifesaving, educational, competition and administration completed;
  • Construction Certificate (Demolition) to be issued 21st March 2022;
  • Loan agreement with NAB executed in March 2022;
  • Ongoing monthly Project Control Group meetings held with Lahey and surf club under supervision and direction of our Project Manager;
  • Ongoing monthly meetings held with Sutherland Shire Council regarding redevelopment project.
  • Demolition works started.

We have so many members young and old, sponsors and supporters who have assisted the surf club over the last 6 months to achieve these milestones and we thank you for your contributions and continued support.
