North Cronulla 100th AGM – A Historic Celebration

Following the excitement of yesterday’s Australian Gold Medal Presentation, today truly was the icing on the cake—our 100th Annual General Meeting.

What an incredible occasion it was.

A special note of gratitude goes to our amazing partners Tradies whose unwavering support made this celebration possible. They understood the importance of marking this milestone on home soil, and their generosity and commitment helped bring our vision to life.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the distinguished guests, dedicated members, and loyal supporters who travelled from near and far to share in this momentous event. Your presence made the day unforgettable.

Together, we celebrated the rich tapestry of North Cronulla’s history—honouring our humble beginnings, reflecting on our proud legacy, and looking ahead to an inspiring future. The journey from past to present was beautifully captured today, and the anticipation for our new Club House was palpable.

Today, in our 100th year, we proudly elevated four exceptional individuals to the prestigious position of Life Membership—one of the highest honours within our Club.

We warmly congratulate Tracey McKinniery, Ben Smollet, Linda Hawkins, and our outstanding President Geoff Budd on this well-deserved recognition. Their dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment have shaped the heart and soul of North Cronulla SLSC.

What a proud and emotional moment it was to witness their elevation during such a historic occasion. Each of them has contributed immeasurably to our Club’s legacy, and we thank them for all they have done—and continue to do—for our community. Their service inspires us all.

The list of those who contributed to this milestone occasion is long, and each one is deeply appreciated. Your efforts, passion, and commitment continue to shape the heart of our club.

A heartfelt thank you to Donna Hargreaves, Barb Maythers, Emily Maythers, Glenn Marie Stockwell, Tony deFrancesco, Steven Brown, NC Ladies Committee and the many many others who gave their time, energy, and passion over the weekend. Your efforts were nothing short of amazing, and your contribution helped make our centenary celebrations truly unforgettable.

But above all, this milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support and vision of our incredible Patron—Mr Warren Rennie AM.

Warren, you are the driving force behind our 100 Years. Your leadership, dedication, and deep love for North Cronulla have shaped our Club’s legacy and future. We salute you, and we thank you. North Cronulla is privileged beyond measure to have you as our Patron.

Here’s to the next hundred years of surf lifesaving excellence, community spirit, and unforgettable memories.
