Sea Lice Match report - Semi Final
The boy's scintillating performance on the weekend has promoted me to pen a match report which I agree, has been a long time coming.
We went into the sudden death Semi's in 3rd place and therefore were drawn to play the 4th place Maccabi, for the right to progress to the final.
The season has been affected by injury and work commitments, which has seen us use fo 45 players (some playing just a game to help out). However we went into the game with a great deal of confidence. This positivity was founded as from the kick off as we went straight into attach, pushing the Maccabi defence with phase after phase.
Possession eventually lead to the first try and then 3 more in quick succession. All scored after throwing the ball through the hands or regaining possession after deft kicks were sent beyond the defensive line.
Hero's were aplenty with all the boy's putting their hands up in attach and defense. Halftime saw the Lice leading 38-5 and with the breeze at their backs in the second half, there was a promise of a big score. Sure enough form the opening whistle the boy's went straight on the attack scoring try after try, some from deep within our own half. With Coach Bunga rotating the bench, the boy's continued the onslaught.
Big mentions to "Man of the Match" Ryan Willis & Lachie Coffey, Luke Brbot, Sean Castro, Damo and Jesse Lombardo who all had splendid games.
Final score 71 - 19.
