Sea Lice Match Report

1 August 2018

After a 2 week sabbatical the boy’s were back for the last round v Engadine Lions. Again we played our other neighbours on their Ol’ Boys day – travelling to their Old Bush Road Field.

We again went into the game a few numbers  down, after securing the minor premiership 2 weeks before.

Soon after the kickoff we knew we were in for game with Engadine playing a mixture of hit-em-up bash and block runner plays. They did well to retain the ball and when we did seem to get it we turned it over fairly cheaply. However, a highlight from beginning to end was our resolute defence. The forwards, in particular, were terrific in this area – playing lads almost double their size (to the tee).

Time after time the Engadine boys were chopped down where they stood – they grew a lot of admirers this day.

Unfortunately a couple of small errors cost us some cheap tries which found us 3 tries down. A mini fight back then occurred which saw us peg a couple back and probably unlucky not to get at least 1 more. The well deserved ‘Man-of-the-Match’ was Kurt Rumsey who was everywhere – both in attack and defence. Young Jesso was also great but unfortunately sustained a knee injury, forcing him from the field. Mentions also to Chad Moses, Harrison Williams & Nick Kirby who all had big games.

Final Score 24-14.

Bring on the Semi’s.
