Steps for 2025-2026 Proficiencies

To be proficient you are required to complete both parts successfully prior 31 December 2025.

Part 1 - Complete refresher online portion of your award proficiency.

After completion print/screenshot completion certificate and bring to practical proficiency.

Part 2 - Attend practical assessment for the award.

Major change annouced with the introduction of Lifesaving CPR. 

Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) is proud to have developed Lifesaving CPR, a targeted educational program to improve CPR delivery in Surf Life Saving and increase survival outcomes.  Developed over the past two years, SLSA is the largest volunteer organisation in Australia to introduce a program like this, with all Surf Life Saving states and territories incorporating the updated techniques into their training.

“Surf Life Saving exists to save lives. By developing Lifesaving CPR, we can be leaders in the resuscitation world and help make sure that the care we provide our patients is the best it can possibly be,” said Chair of Medical Advisory Group, Dr Ned Douglas, who has played a significant role in the development of the program.

The introduction of Lifesaving CPR has lead to changes in the delivery model of the training and assessment of the new Lifesaving CPR modules. Our Training & Education Team has combined the Lifesaving CPR, signals and ART proficiency into a new stream and sessions will be held during the season at locations to be advertised.
